The Blue Plum Zen Group meets regularly at Studio Hum in Johnson City on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings, and also hosts special gatherings such as Japanese Tea Ceremony, art practice, Buddhist study, and Zazen intensives. Please see the Studio Calendar up to date information about this regular schedule and upcoming gatherings.The Blue Plum Zen Group is facilitated by Polly Kiho Horne, a Jukai Student in the Mountains and Rivers Order of Zen Buddhism with 15 years of Zen practice at Fire Lotus Temple in Brooklyn, NY and Zen Mountain Monastery in Mt. This year we are starting a new membership program at Studio Hum! We hope that this program allows our collaborative space to be more accessible to creatives. Our intention is to build community around the intersection of Zen practice and the arts here in our beloved mountains that are so rich with arts & crafts traditions and natural wisdom.

The membership allows floating/shared use of our smaller studio rooms and communal spaces including dining room (floor table for eating lunch/quiet meetings), and library/meeting room. Monthly fee is $175/mo for a 6 month commitment, $215/mo if you go month to month. This includes internet and utilities. We have a studio calendar where you can block out your time for private use of a particular room, which is accessible to all members to coordinate with each other.Private rooms also available for $390/mo.For more info and to apply please email info@studiohum.org

We are located just off of North Roan St. behind the Medicine Shoppe, accross the street from Goodoo Bowl and Open Door Coffeehouse. Vista Ridge Detal Arts (Dr. Amy Moody) is on the 1st floor of our building. Appalachian Dharma & Meditation Center and The Lotus Room are located in the basement.
